Osiris Valdés López
And I was a sleepwalker, on tiptoe,
across the tightrope of dreams,
thinking of love, friendship,
family, inspiration, beauty.
In God and in the meaning of life...
I even exclaimed:
“Universe, sun, earth, sea,
what a sensational breath!”
Once again, sleepwalking,
more asleep than alive,
erratic, hypochondriac of desire,
of my dawns and my cravings!
And I sought myself in the place of my explosion,
the truth always
was my trial and your punishment.
Why is it that I lack the sigh?
Give it back to me in your embrace
and I’ll kiss you, I’ll turn you into my verse...
