This innovative space will be directed by the renowned playwright and director Yoshvani Medina, a figure of international significance whose work has left an indelible mark on the theatrical and television landscape.
Born in Pinar del Río, Cuba in 1967, and holding both American and French nationalities, Yoshvani Medina has established himself as a master of dramaturgy and a visionary of theater. A graduate of the prestigious Conservatoire of Dramatic Art in Paris, Medina has directed and created a wide range of works that have been acclaimed in theaters and festivals around the world, from the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris to Repertorio Español in Off Broadway, New York.
With a career marked by international recognition, Medina has been awarded accolades such as the Grand Prize of Dramaturgy “Our Voices” and the HOLA Award for Best Theater Director of the Year. His ability to blend classical and contemporary elements is evident in his extensive career, which includes directing works by Shakespeare, Cervantes, Molière, and Pirandello, as well as staging modern authors like Virgilio Piñera and Ensler.
In 2018, Medina made his leap into the world of series with “Púber,” marking a new chapter in his career and establishing a bridge between theater and streaming platforms. Now, at Fashionista Edition, he will bring his unique experience to the helm of our new Netflix section, where he will explore emerging narratives and innovations in the world of series.
