"Art is not merely a means to express and evoke emotions; it is a sublime way to awaken to a more profoundly human vibration, to connect with others, heal, and leave an indelible mark. We are not alone; we are all One." — Adela Meza

Dear readers, in the eternal canvas of our existence, peace reveals itself as a state of sublime inner serenity, an ethereal dance where one finds balance and harmony with the universe around us. In many traditions and Eastern philosophies, this state is known as inner peace, a spiritual and mental equilibrium achieved through meditation and introspection. It is a delicate balance between the self and the environment, a reflection of our purest essence.

On a physical plane, when we say a place is at peace, we refer to a moment of stillness and silence that envelops that space in a reverent calm. Living in peace is an aspiration that symbolizes the absence of conflicts, a quest for acceptance and love, an internal and spiritual freedom manifesting in the innermost essence of being. It is a state where equilibrium and stability are found, a place where all parts of a unity coexist in perfect harmony.

In this unceasing quest for peace and beauty, I have had the honor and privilege of meeting Adela Meza, a multidisciplinary artist whose existence stands as a living testament to grace and talent. Adela is a magical and enigmatic being, whose presence radiates a unique luminosity, a haven of love and peace. Her life and work intertwine in a dance of creativity and spirituality, creating a universe where art and soul meet in perfect resonance. Adela, how and when did your fascination with the visual arts begin?

My fascination with the visual arts is a journey of decades, a voyage I could condense into two pivotal moments in my life. The first dates back to 1973, when I attended an Informalist Art Exhibition at the Castagnino Museum in Rosario, Argentina. At the tender age of 9, I was completely captivated by the exuberance of the art and decided that I wanted to immerse myself in that world: to become an artist.

Regarding your artistic journey, was it self-taught or academic?

My education has been a symphony of experiential learning. I have learned by observing the world and have stored countless experiences in my memory and soul. My formal education at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts in Rosario, the Provincial School of Visual Arts, and the Musto Municipal School has been a path of enrichment, both technical and human. Each of these formative spaces has left an indelible mark on my journey.

Could you share an anecdote from your early writing days?

From my early childhood, I have harbored a profound passion for reading. Everything that came into my hands fascinated me, and the scent of books, combined with classical music, was a sublime pleasure. I began writing about ideal love, a feeling I had yet to experience in my life. I wrote notes and scattered phrases, and some of my high school classmates used my writings to impress their boyfriends. Over time, each visual artwork I created was accompanied by a written piece, and vice versa. My first conscious poetry was inspired by Gerbino's sculpture at Pellegrini and Oroño. The image of the woman sunbathing became my Embodied Goddess, a symbol that would resonate in my work for many years.

What type of readers do you write for?

My writings are intended for a broad and diverse audience, spanning various ages and styles. My work unfolds in poetry, loose writings, and stories, with the hope of resonating in the hearts of readers and offering a rich literary experience.

Is there a literary genre that intrigues you and that you have yet to explore?

I am fascinated by experimenting and investigating new genres when something piques my curiosity. In 2019, I ventured into writing haikus and exhibited them in a group show at Musto, at the CAMP in Rosario. Each new project is an opportunity to explore and expand my creative horizons.

 What inspires you to write?

My life is a continuous dance of creation, a way of connecting with the world around me. Sometimes I write, sometimes I paint, design, or create textile jewelry, depending on my desire to express visual or literary metaphors. I find inspiration in the details that often go unnoticed by most.
